News

What's on in Denmark. Here are our main focus areas during autumn 2011.
  • Focusday on CHARGE Syndrome

On October 5th 2011, the Danish CHARGE Network and the Knowledge Centre are arranging a day with dr. David Brown from California. The topic of the day is dysfunctions as a consequences of CHARGE Syndrome.

  • National Conference on Congenital deafblindness

Every 18 months we arrange a two-day conference for professionals working in the field of congenital deafblindness in Denmark. The conference is meant as both a meeting-place and a place where relevant topics are presented. The conference is a mixture of plenary sessions and streams.
We are busy planning the next conference to take place in September 2012 under the conference title: “The interesting partner”.

  • Exhibit

The Centre has hired a professional photographer to take pictures of people with congenital deafblindness in different environments in Denmark. The result is an exhibit consisting of 23 artistic photographs, each one of them telling their own story.

Projects

  • Sharing of knowledge within an organisation

This project focuses on documentation, implementing and sharing of knowledge and experience among the staff in an organisation. We wish to find out what promotes or restricts sharing of knowledge and experience. The project started in 2009 and we expect to be finished by 2012 (it will then have involved services to about 50 % of the persons with cong. deafblindness in Denmark).

  • New book: Co-creating Communication with persons with Congenital Deafblindness

(in Danish: 'At skabe kommunikation med døvblindfødte')
Inger Rødbroe and Anne Nafstad are working on a new and updated version of the book. The book is expected finished in 2012 and will be printed in both a Danish and an English version.
The project is a collaboration with Skådalen kompetansesenter/Skådalen Resource Centre in Norway.
