Identification of congenital deafblindness

This material was developed as a guideline for the methods being used during the survey. The authors of the 5 pamphlets Karen Andersen from Norway and Inger Rødbroe from Denmark are both very experienced in assessing persons with congenital deafblindness.

The material consist of:

  1. Examination of vision - Suggestions for medical and functional assessment (page 1 -31).
  2. Examination of hearing - Suggestions for medical and functional assessment (page 32 -62).
  3. Examination of the tactile sense - Suggestions for medical and functional assessment (page 63 -95).
  4. Examination and observation - Assessment of the functioning of the senses in interaction and communication (page 96 - 126).
  5. Questionnaire - A screening material (page 127 - 144).
